First, let’s take a look at an example of this kind of post from Legacy Church out of Massachusetts.

Scroll through their Instagram Reels, and you'll see they're posting consistently, getting a couple thousand views per average on their posts.

And then - boom - 500,000 views on this post with the title: 3 Biblical Declarations To Pray Over Your Finances.

Keep scrolling - another 500,000 views.

Same post design, this time with the title: 3 Biblical Declarations To Pray Over Your Children.

And another one, this one with more than 750,000 views, with the title: 3 Biblical Declarations To Pray Over Your Marriage.

These kinds of posts will work on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok.

They're vertical videos that take Biblical truths and format them into a list.

To help you with this, I've created a Photoshop template you can download.

But there are a few essential editing tips that you cannot ignore if you want to see traction on these posts the way Legacy Church does.

Most people will overlook these, but props to Legacy Church because these little things together contribute to these posts doing so well for them.

Now, using the template I'm sharing with you, these are three different posts I made that you’ll find below showing you different examples of content that fit nicely into this format:

And before we go any further, I want to point out how versatile this post format is.

Legacy Church came at it from the angle of a guided prayer using the promises from Scripture.

I love that.

My versions start with problems of identity, hopelessness, and lack of purpose and then use promises from Scripture to combat those problems that every person has faced at some point in their life - irrespective of faith background.

These are just two ways of using the list post format - the potential for ideas is endless.

Let me show you how to edit these, which is much easier via this video tutorial.

Step #1- Open in Photoshop

Key things to remember:

  • Start in Photoshop

  • Use the “Safe Area Overlay” to place your video’s elements where they won’t overlap with the user interface of the social platform

  • Keep your font easy to read and clean

  • Turn off your background layover before exporting

  • Export as PNG

Now, for adding your motion background.

Here’s how to use DaVinci Resolve (click here for a video tutorial).

Step #2- Open DaVinci Resolve

Key things to remember:

  • Resolve is free; download it here.

  • Looping audio is easier in Resolve than trying to do it in the social platform

  • Create a short video, ideally 5-7 seconds long

  • Looping a short video boosts how the video is received on the social platform

  • Use a dark background to make your white text highly visible

And there you have it!

Like I said, I made this template to share with your church for free.

I can't wait to see what you come up with.

And now that you've got this great post idea and you're feeling good, it's crucial to understand how a single post like this falls into the overall strategy of a church on social media.

So make sure to check out The Church Social Media Masterclass, a comprehensive guide for using digital platforms in local ministry.

And the exact thing I wish I had when I started doing my church’s social media.

I'll see you in that video. 👋
